NONE of us are high Volume Breeders,  we all raise 1-2 litters (Age close litters)at a Time, which means  we have a waiting list.   If we bred more, the quality would not be there,  nor the socializing.  We can ONLY  raise   2 litters  from 5-9 weeks,  

(yes, we stay home and Raise our pups,  not kennel raised like chickens)

If you find another equal pup from another registered breeder SOONER, and you have done your homework on the COI and the OFA Testing is complete and up to date, annually, then we can Transfer your deposit to your new Breeder.

NO PUPPY MILLS:
WE do not keep kennels of dogs on the premises.  Nor do we keep 45 havanese in a separate breeding house. We do not advertise pups in newspapers,  Used Victoria,  Kijiji,   Craigslist,  
our pups sell  Solely by our reputation,  most of our clients are Vets,  Doctors, Lawyers, Nurses,  CKC Judges,
We provide pups for Several Therapy programs in North America.

We do not have a Kennel full of dogs, WE do not keep dogs coupe up like chickens. 
These are companion animals and need to live in a home with people; and ours Do.
WE have 2 boys living here full time,  and 2 other boys that live here, half time.
ALL of our girls, live in Loving homes in the area with their owners,  Not in a kennel.
Each girl,  after they pass testing and are Vetted and approved to breed, will have 1 to 4 litters,
(pending litter size and how they handle being a mom) They are not bred until they have grown up and matured, and have health testing and Vet approval to be bred.
(we do not breed our girls on 1st and 2nd heat,  at 7 months, or 14 months ). 
puppy mill pups start breeding as early as 6 months, and up to 10 years old,  they are breeding machines, that can have 10-20 litters, then sadly disposed of, as they are not a family companion pet.)

When a girl is bred and due to have puppies,  they  Come here, to whelp, or I go to the home to assist in the whelp and mentor the new owners. All is done with a Vet on call 5 min away.
After pups are weaned,  all Moms  receive a Full Spa treatment,  Teeth scaled and polished.

WE try to always breed 2 girls at the same time,  for a few reasons,  mostly if one has a Large ligter of 6,7,8,9 pups,  and one has a small litter of 1,2,3, pups,  we can divide the pups up between the two moms.   Often our moms will co raise the both litters.  Having 2 Moms has worked out awesome over the years,  and is a good insurance, that the pups will have the Best of care.  Pups are raised right in the living area of our home, (kitchen /family room), not in a Basement, Barn or kennel.

Raising more than 2 litters  from 6-9 weeks,  We have found doesn't work.   Raising  2 litter's is a FULL time job, and if our breeder members can get the time off work,  they often will like to raise the litters under our Guidance.
Make sure your breeder is Not raising more than 2-3 litters at a time,  and make sure she is home 100% of the time,  and not working a different full time job.
I stay home,  and Raise,  yes,  RAISE the pups.   I do not just assume, they will raise themselves.
They are potty trained from 3 weeks on,  knowing there is a distant designated potty station.   They are not raised in a rack  where the eliminating waste just falls through the racks,  (puppy mill practice),   and we do not raise them on a paper lined pen, where the world is their toilet,  many breeders work a full time job, and leave the pups on a paper lined pen,  where they eat, sleep  eliminate and play,   THUS becoming Very hard for the new owner to train, as from 3-9 weeks,  they have not been taught.
(THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW,  what level of training your pup has got from 3-9 weeks)
 
WE work HARD  to eliminate Separation anxiety,    we start separating from Dam and litter-mates, and Crate each puppy    2x a day,  for 2 hours  from 7-9 weeks.
Pups are ready to go  after 9 weeks,  when they can sleep quietly  from 11pm  to 6 am in a crate.

Pups for THERAPY HOMES,  are kept 10-12 weeks.
Once or twice a week, pups are groomed,  nails trimmed,  brushed, combed, teeth brushed,  held on backs,  bathed, blow-dried,   VERY well socialized,  also adding noisy sounds, vacuums, and different techniques, as laid out  for Early Social Stimulation by the experts.  Pups are introduced to older dogs,  Cats,  Children  and different things.

This is a hobby,  and a passion,  a labor of Love, but we also live in Canada, where our Tax laws require we operate above ground, and register as Small business,  collect taxes, submit our taxes,
we are registered with CKC as a Registered Breeders, I am a Premium Member
EVERY single one of our litters is CKC registered,
I am registered with the Veterinary council and I am a certified Breeder.
I have All of the required Credentials and more.
Our aim is to operate  100% completely compliant with All of our laws and rules of Ethics, and in the Best interest of every pup born and our clients.

We will Stand behind  EVERY pup we produce for Life. 
 
Never in 21 years of breeding this breed,  and years before that,  breeding Search and Rescue Bloodhounds,  Never  does one of our dogs, ever end up in rescue.

This PILOT program,  that I have been doing for years, is now recognized in many European Countries,  to avoid Hording and keeping dogs in Kennels.
New Laws have been made and regulations For Breeders.

Sadly in North America, there are few regulations,   I can breed a father to a daughter,   And Register the pups as purebred.
I can breed 2 health affected parents,  and still register the pups.
For this reason, the consumer Needs to learn HOW to shop for a puppy.

AS MUCH as we would like to NOT call this a business, we live in CANADA,   and that it OUR law.
All breeders  should be registered with the Small Business ministry for their province.  It is the Law,   even though it may not be a profitable business,  if you are selling a product,   you Must be registered.
Most of us are just Hobby Breeders,  but in our era, and to live in a beautiful place we call our HOME Canada, we must follow the rules.
It is against the law to be accepting funds under the table and if a breeder is breaking this law,  what else are they not doing ethically
